History Details For - "Mad" Anthony Wayne

12/29/1744
General Wayne was born very near a battle that was one of the major disasters for the Americans during the war. General Wayne commanded 1500 men during the battle of Brandywine. During the evening of September 20th, the British under General Charles Grey launched a bayonette attack on Waynes men, sleeping near Paoli. 300 men were killed. General Wayne was a skilled General (inspite of the Paoli setback) and gained much notoriety as an Indian fighter after the American Revolution.
