History Details For - Hubbardton

7/7/1777
General St. Clair abandoned Fort Ticonderoga on July 5, 1777. On the second morning after the retreat (July 7th), a rear guard of approximately 600 men was attacked at Hubbartdon, Vt. The fight lasted around 40 minutes. The British and Germans were under the command of General Simon Frasier. The Americans under the command of Lt. Colonel Seth Warner suffered over 50 percent casualties. The British suffered 198 killed or wounded.
