11/27/1736
Brigadier General Richard Montgomery was born on December 2, 1736 in Swords, Dublin. He married Janet Livingston in August of 1773. His Northern Expedition with Benedict Arnold and Ethan Allen - in hopes of gaining support from British colonies in Montreal and other cities - ended in failure during a snowstorm. His soldiers' enlistments would end on December 31, 1775. General Montgomery died while storming Quebec city on December 31, 1775.
